Packing posters

A great pleasure to meet Allan Winn last week for the first time, Vice President of the Brooklands Museum, who not only co-signed the Benjafield’s 500 posters, but also gave me a hand to pack them into the tubes, which was definitely not one of his responsibilities, but very gratefully received in any case. Charles Bone PPRI

Attended the funeral today of RI Past President Charles Bone who passed away peacefully on the 4th of March. Despite the obvious sadness of the occasion it was heartening to see just how many people attended the service in the beautiful village church in Puttenham…it was brimming full, with many attendees standing in order to pay their respects to an extremely popular man of almost 100 years of age. Charles was always very supportive to me in my own term as RI President and he will be much missed.

Private view of RI 2026

Attended the Private View of the 214th Exhibition of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and was delighted to discover that I had presented with the Megan Fitzoliver Brush Award. Many thanks.

10 years ago today...

...was when David Bowie died, just two days after his 69th birthday and the release of his last album ‘Blackstar’. He was defiant and creative to the end and still so present that it seems hard to realise that a decade has passed so quickly.
